Details: This
wonderful pair of never worn shoes dates to the Edwardian era. The soles of the
shoe hardly show a scuff and these were old store stock. Found in the an old mercantile store, the Wheeler Brothers
General Store, started in 1845, and when Silas Wheeler closed the store in 1968,
everything from grains to tools, to sewing implements and silk stockings were
left on their original shelves, undisturbed and untouched.
The shoes are made of black leather with their
original painted steel tip laces fully intact. The bottom sole, which is
pictured, proves they have not been worn and reads YE OLDE TYME COMFORT SHOE.
The leather shows minor creases from storage, but their condition is otherwise
mint. Measure 2/3 inches at the widest point and exactly 10 inches toe tip to
heel. I estimate that these shoes are around a women’s size 6. The heel
measures just over an inch in its height and stands 7 inches tall.
